When Sun Meets Rain

What happens when sun and rain comes together?  Success for self-published authors!  Sunpiper Press is pleased to announce its affiliation with The Wet August Company of Portland , Oregon .

Formed in the summer of 2003, THE WET AUGUST COMPANY is the brainchild of entrepreneur and marketing major, Michelle McGriff.

“Upon moving from ‘sunny’ California to Portland, OR, I took note of the Pacific Northwest’s spontaneously rainy summer months—as well as fall, spring and winter. Frankly speaking, it was a ‘wet country’.” says Ms. McGriff.  “However, during the summer of 2003, during an unexpected heat wave, I longed to see the damp sidewalks and opened umbrellas that I’d grown used to in this region, thus, during one particularly hot summer afternoon while sitting at my desk, staring out at the parched sidewalk down below, praying for rain, THE WET AUGUST COMPANY was born.”

What THE WET AUGUST COMPANY intends to accomplish is, primarily, the promotion of many Self-Published authors whose outstanding work is worth the mention and recognition that is usually reserved for mainstream authors. Using as a vehicle, Wet August Books, THE WET AUGUST COMPANY hopes to introduce you to some of these hard working, diligent authors who are striving to make a name for themselves. THE WET AUGUST COMPANY is honored to support these authors by advocating their books through promotional items that bear the book's covers on the front—i.e.: Mugs, Tote Bags, T-Shirts, Greeting (book) Cards and other items. Also through this site, you can have access to excerpts, author’s tour and events and other valuable information through an informative newsletter. Wet August Books is devoted to introducing you to many diverse writing styles and genres that will open your eyes to the hidden talent that is all around you. Of course it wont stop there as Wet August Books hopes to regenerate your love for some of more established authors too, those whose work fall under the category of 'classic' and are often set on the shelf and neglected in the light of more popular and or 'trendy' works.

“I’m very happy Ms. McGriff has allowed me to work with her.” Says Robert Denson of Sunpiper Press.  “I’m excited about being a part of The Wet August Experience and also excited about reading all of Ms. McGriff’s books.”

That’s right!  Add author to the resume’ of Michelle McGriff.  With 10+ novels in her portfolio, Michelle McGriff is making a name for herself in the literary market.  With two novels set to release in 2005, Ms. McGriff has been quite busy.

“That’s what I’m all about…the art of writing, the creative escape from the everyday… promoting others as well as my own work and storytelling in the purest form.” Says Michelle.  Make sure you check out THE WET AUGUST COMPANY at www.wetaugust.com.  There is something for everyone.
