Introducing
LIFT Magazine
www.liftmag.net
LIFT Magazine
is a bi-monthly Christian publication based minutes outside of
Atlanta, Georgia. LIFT an acronym for "Living In Faith
Together" was developed to be the "The Gospel Grapevine" of
the entertainment industry. LIFT Magazine’s goal is to keep readers
informed of what’s happening in music, television, film, theatre,
literature and sports. Our writers have worked hard to provide up to
date news on the lives of people spreading the word of GOD and
making a difference in their communities.
LIFT Magazine
will reach an audience of men and women age 18-40. It will be
compared to successful mainstream publications such as Sister 2
Sister, Vibe and The Source. LIFT’ Magazine’s
desire is to meet the need of readers everywhere that want to keep
up to date with Christian entertainment. LIFT’s preview issue will
be launched online in June 2005. Owner and managing editor, Daphni
Cooper, would consider it a blessing if you would join LIFT in its
spiritual journey.
Though LIFT
Magazine is her gift from GOD, it is the brainchild of entrepreneur
Daphni Cooper. A single mother in her late thirties, when Daphni
accepted Jesus Christ into her life, everything changed. She soon
learned that pretty much everything she enjoyed had some sort of
indication of sin.
One rainy
morning as she drove her son to school, he asked why he could not
listen to rap music anymore. Daphni had to explain to her son, that
the words of the songs he loved so much did not help them to become
better people. Concerned that this change would make her son
rebellious against learning about GOD and his only begotten son, she
decided to do some research. Daphni spoke to a seasoned saint at
work who was up to date on the happenings in the gospel industry. He
loaned her a copy of an album titled "CrunkFest", a
compilation of Christian hip-hop music. Her son was ecstatic! The
dilemma was solved, however, her quest for more information to keep
her little one intrigued had begun. She now took on the
responsibility to show her son he was not missing out on anything by
changing their beliefs, Daphni also wanted to prove this to her
family and friends who playfully teased them for their beliefs.
Needing her
spirits lifted, Daphni and her son attended the Thursday night
service at their church. She was stunned to hear her bishop begin a
series prophetically titled "The Power of Your Gift". Daphni left
the service on fire for Christ. She prayed that GOD would give her
direction on how he wanted her to make a difference. During her
morning ritual to prepare for work, the vision of LIFT Magazine was
revealed.
LIFT
Magazine’s vision is to touch the lives of our readers using the
testimonies of Christians located in the United States and abroad.
